Sean Diddy Combs has thanked Kanye West after he called for him to be freed from jail.
Diddy, 55, has been locked up at the notorious Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York City, since he was arrested last year on sex trafficking, racketeering and prostitution charges.
The rapper has vehemently denied all of the allegations and charges against him. He has been denied bail multiple times.
In a bizarre twist on Thursday, Diddy’s former friend Kanye voiced his support for the star in a series of rambling social media posts.
Seemingly calling an end to their three-year feud, Kanye, 47, launched into a tirade begging President Trump to ‘Free Puff’ and revealing he was releasing a Yeezy clothing line in collaboration with Diddy Combs’ Sean John brand.
Thanking Kanye for his support, Diddy reposted the rapper’s tweets about their clothing collaboration, taking to Instagram from behind bars to write: ‘Thank you to my brother @Ye’, and sharing a link to the Yeezy website.
Kanye began his rant by addressing Diddy – real name Sean Combs – by his former stage name, Puff Daddy, tweeting: ‘FREE PUFF’.
Half an hour later, he returned to the microblogging site to accuse celebrities of leaving Diddy to ‘rot’, penning: ‘ALL THESE CELEBRITY N****S AND B*****S IS P***Y YALL A WATCH OUR BROTHER ROT AND NEVER SAY S**T.’
He went on: ‘THEY TRYNA PROVE A POINT AND YALL KNOW THAT YALL F***ING KNOW THAT AND SITTING LAUGHING AT THE F***ING INTERNET ON INSTAGRAM THIS MAN GAVE HIS LIFE TO US THIS MY IDOL THIS MY HERO.’
Kanye, who was receiving plenty of backlash from fans amid his tirade, then claimed he had nothing left to lose, writing: ‘WHAT YALL GONE DO CANCEL MY SNEAKER DEAL CANCEL MY RECORD DEAL FREEZE MY ACCOUNTS F**K ALL YALL N****S SLAVERY IS A CHOICE IM SPEAKING MY MIND NOW I AINT EDITING S**T AGAIN EVER.’
The rapper famously lost a series of brand deals in 2022 after his first anti-Semitic tirade, with GAP ripping Kanye merchandise from their stores, Universal dropping him and Adidas terminating its multi-million dollar partnership with the rapper.
Likening his situation to Diddy Combs, Kanye referenced the rapper being ousted as the frontman of global alcoholic drinks giant, Diageo.
Using racist slurs and again targeting the Jewish community, he went on: ‘ALL YOU PLEEEEEASE COME AT ME THATS HOW WE SPOT THE K***S LET THESE WHITE PEOPLE AND JEWISH PEOPLE TELL YOU WHAT TO DO AND SAY F**K DIAGEO AND F**K ALL YALL N****S IN ADVANCE.’
Kanye then vowed to make money for Diddy by selling a clothing line collaborating his Yeezy brand with Diddy’s Sean John brand, insisting they would ‘split the profits 50/50.’
Claiming that Diddy’s downfall was the result of racism, he went on: ‘JUST FOR CLARITY THEY TYRING TO MAKE AN EXAMPLE OUT OF PUFF ME AND MY BROTHER HAD OUR ISSUES BUT THESE WHITE PEOPLE TRYING TO USE PUFF TO SCARE N****S IM NEITHER SCARED NOR BRAVE THIS JUST ME.’
As well as posting a series of controversial tweets on X, he also used his Instagram account to share his support for Diddy, tagging President Donald Trump in a post that read: ‘FREE DIDDY’.
Kanye also baffled fans as he appeared to reference Justin Bieber while making unsubstantiated claims about Diddy’s finances.
He shared: ‘I JUST FOUND OUT THAT PUFF IS NOT ALLOWED TO MAKE OR COLLECT MONEY WHILE HE’S LOCKED UP SO I’MA SEND HIS HALF OF THE MONEY TO JUSTIN.’
Fans have shared concerns about Justin’s wellbeing as his relationship with former mentor Diddy came under scrutiny amid the rapper’s arrest.
Kanye’s support for Diddy will no doubt have come as a shock to many, given the pair have been locked in a feud since Kanye unveiled his controversial ‘White Lives Matter’ merchandise in 2022.
After Diddy branded the message ‘tone deaf’ in a podcast interview, Kanye released a series of texts between the pair fighting about the remarks.
‘I’m selling these tees. Nobody gets in between me and my money. This is my grandfather texting you now. Never call me with no bulls*** like that again unless you ready to green light me. Cause anybody who got on that tee is me,’ Kanye reportedly texted.
Then things got a little more strange with Ye texting: ‘Out of respect for everything you’ve meant to me I’ll be quiet as Virgil. But now I know how I’ve hurt people I love with threats.’
In a follow-up text Kanye taunted his friend: ‘Come do something illegal to me noooow pleeeeeeeeease.’
He then posted a screen-grab of these texts to his Instagram page and wrote in the caption: ‘God is Love My brother misspoke to me but I still love him.’
Eventually Diddy responded: ‘As soon as I land we’ll meet face to face!!! Send me a address.
Diddy also attempted reasoning with Kanye who insisted his friend was ‘sent by Jews’ and a ‘FED.’
‘N***a send me a address,’ Diddy insisted over text. ‘Let’s stop playing these internet games. And don’t feel threatened. You’ll be fine. Just love.’
‘This ain’t a game,’ Kanye retorted. ‘Ima use you as an example to show the Jewish people that told you to call me that no one can threaten or influence me. I told you this was war. Now gone get you some business.’
When he posted the screen-grab to Instagram he wrote in the caption: ‘Jesus is Jew.’
I’m just trying to talk to you as a black man,’ Diddy pleaded. ‘And I’m talking to you because this is hurting our people. Stop.’
Kanye, undeterred, replied: ‘Anything you text I will post. I love you. And you guys are breaking my heart. I accept your apology in advance.’
By ‘you guys,’ he appeared to be referring to both Diddy and Boosie Badazz, who has also criticized the White Lives Matter shirts.
Posting these texts to Instagram, he wrote: ‘GOD IS LOVE.’
Last March, fans speculated as to whether the feud could be over after Diddy attended Ye and Ty Dolla $ign’s controversial set at Rolling Loud in Los Angeles.
However, it was claimed that the Bound 2 hitmaker ‘refused’ to meet up with Diddy, who attended with his children, to say hello after the show.
Kanye’s rant comes days after Diddy’s attorneys told Dailymail.com that the entertainer ‘is confident he will prevail in court.’
They shared a statement on Wednesday that read: ‘No matter how many lawsuits are filed, it won’t change the fact that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted, or sex trafficked anyone – man or woman, adult or minor.
We live in a world where anyone can file a lawsuit for any reason. Fortunately, a fair and impartial judicial process exists to find the truth, and Mr. Combs.’
Prosecutors in Diddy’s federal case say the music mogul used blackmail and violence in his efforts to silence victims.
Among the claims made against the entertainer is that he persuaded women to participate against their will in group sexual exhibitions referred to as ‘Freak Offs.’
The Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down performer remains in federal custody nearly five months after his September 16 arrest in Manhattan in connection with sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
Diddy, who is also charged with transportation to engage in prostitution, has made a trio of attempts in vain to be granted bail, amid concerns from the court he would attempt to flee or tamper with his case.
Prior to his arrest he was in the headlines for much of 2024 year after raids on multiple properties in March; and video of him assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie surfacing on CNN in May.
