Matthew Rosengart is closing his legal chapter that saw him help Britney Spears get out of her 13-year conservatorship.
The lawyer from Greenberg Traurig was hand-picked by Spears in July 2021, to bring her conservatorship to an end, which he accomplished in just four months.
L.A. County Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny granted the petition to end the conservatorship in November 2021.
He had stayed on as her lawyer over the last three years to tie up many legal loose ends, but now he is no longer representing the singer, via THR.
He most recently settled an ongoing dispute with Spears’ father Jamie over his attorney fees, which was resolved in April, with Spears gushing over him in May.
Matthew Rosengart said there is no active litigation involving Spears at this time, as he thanked the singer in a statement.
‘It has been an honor to serve as Britney’s litigator, to work with her to achieve her goals in obtaining the court-ordered suspension of her former conservator, followed by restoring her fundamental rights and civil liberties, while continuing to protect her and more recently to extricate her from all outstanding litigation and the byzantine probate court proceedings. As I’ve always said, the credit goes to Britney,’ Matthew Rosengart said in a statement.
He added in another statement from April 26, ‘As she desired, her freedom now includes that she will no longer need to attend or be involved with court or entangled with legal proceedings in this matter.’
While Rosengart performed a number of roles for Spears behind-the-scenes, his primary one was of a litigator, and now his services are no longer needed.
It was understood between the singer and the lawyer that the arrangement would come to an end at some point, which is now.
Rosengart was also instrumental in helping the singer land her massive deal with Simon & Schuster for her best-selling memoir The Woman In Me.
He also helped set up a prenuptial agreement for her marriage to Sam Asghari, a restraining order against ex Jason Alexander and much more.
Last month, she praised Rosengart after he helped her following her bizarre Chateau Marmont incident.

Matthew offered an exclusive statement to DailyMail shortly thereafter, stating, ‘I was surprised and very flattered by the post, and the feelings are mutual.’
Rosengart has a number of other high-profile clients such as Sean Penn, Steven Spielberg, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Eddie Vedder and Jimmy Butler.
He has also been named one of the best lawyers in America by several publications and was dubbed, ‘Hollywood’s King of Litigators’ by Variety.
