Nigerian celebrity DJ Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola who is better known as DJ Cuppy and Swae Lee hang out together with friends, as they enjoy a boat ride in Lagos.
DJ Cuppy who on Thursday 20th July 2023, took to her official social media handle to post a series of photos, shared the photos where she was photographed with the American rapper Swae Lee and other of her friend, cruising around the Lagos waters inside her father’s luxurious yacht, named M.Y. Nana.
She captioned the photo with:
“I like a big boat I cannot lie,” she said.
DJ Cuppy who posted the photos did not say when it was taken, but given that the likes of French Montana and Swae Lee were in Nigeria a few weeks ago to shoot a music video, she must have seized that opportunity to hang out with the rapper.
Swae Lee, renowned for his Grammy-nominated status and as one half of the dynamic duo Rae Sremmurd, caused a little bit of controversy some days back when he tweeted the popular music genre ‘Amapiano’ and added a Nigerian flag at the end of the tweet; a tweet which South Africans where the genre of music originated from didn’t find funny.
The tweet was:
“Wait till y’all hear Swae Lee on Amapiano,” he wrote with a Nigerian flag emoji at the end.
After South Africans flooded his comment section to accuse the rapper of discrediting their country, the origin of Amapiano, and wrongly crediting Nigeria, he clarified in a follow-up tweet that his initial tweet was misconstrued.
He explained that he included the Nigerian flag because he is partly Nigerian.
He wrote, “For the ones outraged about the flag, I put it because I’m partly Nigerian. I didn’t say anything about the creation of the genre y’all tweaking.”
Swae Lee added: “Bigs up to the South Africans for creating this beautiful sh*t.”
