João Félix is to return to his parent club Atletico Madrid, as reports have it that incoming Chelsea manager, Pochettino sees the Portuguese striker as surplus to requirement at the London club.
According to the report by renowned football transfer journalist, Fabrizio Romano, quoting Atlético president, Cerezo stated Pochettino does not think João Félix has a future at Chelsea.
“We have been informed that Poch does not count with João Félix for Chelsea. He will return here, we’ll see… we’ve nothing planned”, Atlético president Cerezo has announced.
Chelsea paid £11m for six months of Felix, who scored four goals in his time at Stamford Bridge.
Mauricio Pochettino is already looking to offload players to create room for some likely incomings. He was announced as Chelsea’s new manager after signing a two-year deal with the option of a further year.
The 51-year-old has been without a job since leaving Paris Saint-Germain following their Ligue 1 title success at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.
Pochettino will be joined by his coaching staff including assistant Jesus Perez, goalkeeper coach Toni Jimenez and his eldest son Sebastiano, who worked on his staff at Tottenham and PSG. The Argentine is renowned for getting the best out of his players and developing younger players into top talents.
