The Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area of Delta state, Dr. Michael Tidi, has urged residents of the council area, of voting age to pick up their Permanent Voter cards (PVCs) from the office/collection points of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the area, ahead of the 2023 polls.

Dr Michael Tidi made the appeal on Tuesday 13th December 2022, where he urged residents who registered or transferred their voting points in the last registration exercise conducted by INEC, to visit the Commission’s LGA Office at Esisi Road, Warri for collection of their PVCs.

INEC, commenced distribution of Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs nationwide Monday, December 12th 2022, for persons who registered in its recent voter’s registration exercise and fixed Sunday, January 22, 2023, as the last date for distribution of PVCs.

Dr. Tidi, emphasized the need for the new registrants to avail themselves of the window created by INEC to collect their PVCs ahead of the 2023 polls, noting that the imperative of electing resourceful political leadership at the National and state levels in the forthcoming polls, begins with possession of permanent voter card.

Whilst urging the new registrants not to be deterred by the possibility of the crowd at the collection centre, the Warri South Council Boss, challenged Officials of INEC in the local government area, to put machinery in place to fast-track the collection of PVCs.

He assured that his administration, will continually provide the enabling environment for INEC, and other federal and state governments’ Ministries, Departments as well as Agencies, to effectively operate in Warri South Local Government Area.
