Russian Authorities Respond To Biden's 'Insults' On Putin

Russian authorities have responded to the remarks of President Joe Biden of the United States targetted at their leader, Vladimir Putin. 

Joe Biden in his remarks on Saturday in Poland, on the ongoing invasion of Ukraine by Russia, attacked his Russian counterpart calling him a “butcher” and assuring that he could “not stay in power.”

Hours after the remarks, Russian authorities which frowned at the statement, called on the President of the United States to remain “thoughtful”, calling his attacks on Vladimir Putin “personal insults”, after he called Vladimir Putin a “butcher” on Saturday during a visit to Warsaw.

“A head of state must remain thoughtful,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told TASS on Saturday evening.

“Every time, personal insults like this reduce the scope of possibilities for our bilateral relations with the current American government,” he also warned.

The President of the United States had made particularly vehement remarks on Saturday with regard to his Russian counterpart, calling him a “dictator” and “butcher” for the crimes committed according to him by the Russian army in Ukraine. 

“This war is a failure for Putin,” he said while on an official visit to Poland.

“For the love of God, this man cannot stay in power ,” he said, before the White House qualified his remarks, assuring that Joe Biden had not called for “regime change. ” in Russia.

The head of state, on the other hand, expressed his support for the Russian people , assuring that he was “not the enemy” of the United States. “This war is not worthy of you, Russian people,” he said.

Joe Biden, who is currently on an official visit to Poland where he met Polish President Andrzej Duda, and also spoke for the first time with senior Ukrainian officials since the start of the conflict, underlined Washington’s “sacred commitment” to the principle of collective defense of NATO member countries in connection with the conflict in Ukraine.
