The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has come under attack from some Nigerians, for posting the address of Super Eagles’ camp on their social media page.
The handler of the NFF official social media page and the football federation themselves, received heavy backlash for making a post exposing Super Eagles’ camp location in Abuja, given the security situation in the country, they queried.
The problem started for the NFF on Monday 3rd January 2022, when a few hours after they posted one of the training sessions of Eagles at the Moshood Abiola multipurpose national sports stadium in Abuja, and then went ahead to reveal the hotel where the Eagles were camped before their departure to Cameroon for the AFCON.
The handle ng_supereagles posted:
“Eagles camp in Abuja.”
A few seconds after the post, some Nigerians took to the comment section of the Instagram handle, to blast the NFF for the post.
“Is it safe to drop the players resting location online,?” one fan asked.
“Who post this? so unnecessary!” another said.
“Disappointed posting players location. Its sad. Nigeria journalists.”
“Why do you tell us? In a country where insecurity is on the high side, you shouldn’t do this.”
Meanwhile, Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has linked up with his teammates in camp ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
Musa arrived the team’s camp in Abuja on Monday afternoon.
The Fatih Karagumruk of Turkey forward’s arrival increased the number of players in camp to 14.
More players are expected in the team’s camp before their departure to Cameroon.
The players and their officials are expected to leave for Garoua, Cameroon on Wednesday.
14 players are still expected in the Super Eagles’ camp and they will begin their AFCON campaign against Egypt at the Roumde Adjia Stadium on January 11.
They will also face Sudan and Guinea-Bissau in their other Group D fixtures.
