Nigerian Afropop star Tems has been nominated for an Oscar award, as she makes the just-released list of nominees to be honoured at the forthcoming 95th Academy awards.
Tems who is getting yet another international recognition for her hard work was nominated in the Original song category alongside Rihanna, Ryan Coogler and Ludwig Goransson, for their song “Lift Me Up” from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”

The 95th Oscars Nominees lists were announced by Riz Ahmed and Allison Williams on Tuesday 24th January 2023.
The 95th Oscars set for Sunday, March 12 at the Dolby Theater in a ceremony airing live on ABC and hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.

African Afro-pop star Tems confirmed in October of 2022, that she owns the magical pen behind Rihanna’s latest single titled ‘Lift Me Up”.
The fast-rising and multiple award winning Afro-pop Queen and Singer-songwriter Tems, taking to her official social media handle on Friday 28th October 2022, to claim her rights to the song, posted a cover page of Rihanna’s latest music, with these words as caption:
“Blessed to have written this song in honour of Chadwick Boseman and even more blessed to hear the baddest @badgirlriri voice it to perfection” she said then.
