The Anambra Disability Community are expressing their joy at the appointment of a physically challenged person as a Permanent Secretary by Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State.

The Anambra Disability Community in a statement released on Wednesday 18th August 2021, by Barrister Chuks Ezewuzie, who is the Special Adviser on Disability Matters to the Governor of Anambra State, thanked the Governor for the kind gesture, saying:

We appreciate His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano for continuing to run inclusive administration with love and care for the Anambra Disability community,” he said.

The Governor of Anambra state had on Wednesday, appointed 11 new permanent secretaries with one of them being a physically challenged person.

The physically challenged new permanent Secretary is Barrister Anthony Idigo. He was sworn in today along with Ten (10) other permanent secretaries. Barrister Idigo will serve in the Ministry of women and children affairs.

Barrister Chuks Ezewuzie adding further stated that the Office of the Governor on Disability matters congratulates Barrister Idigo and prays for Gods Guidance in his service to the good people of Anambra state.

Speaking shortly after the swearing-in ceremony, Governor Willie Obiano reminded them of the oath they took, describing them as very important managers of segments of the civil service they are occupying, asking them to live by example.

While stating that his administration has maintained the bond and contract with the civil servants, despite the daunting challenges, the governor, however, warned that if found to be corrupt, they can be sacked.

He asked them to reciprocate by being hardworking in order to increase the public perception of government, registered his administration’s intolerance for vices among civil, assuring of extending relevant training to them, so that you can also train the people working under them.
