Birdman has revealed what a lot of people didn’t know about the music business, especially when it comes to the business relationship between Record labels and the artists on their roster, as he opens up about how much his record label makes annually off of Artist’s Masters.

The rapper and businessman, claims his Cash Money Records makes between $20-$30million a year on Artists’ Masters, including former artists.

Birdman and Cash Money who have been accused of not giving artists under their Records what they deserve, including rapper Lil Wayne, dropped these figures while speaking in an exclusive interview with Wallo of “Where’s Wallo.

Birdman when asked how he made money from the masters, Birdman stated, “We license the music, I just started letting people sample my s**t. So yeah, it’s a gang of ways you can make money with your masters.”

Getting a bit more specific into how much the label makes, he stated, “We generate $20-30 million a year just on our masters.”

If you recall, Lil Wayne and Cash Money had their own issue, as it relates to money. He was unable to release his ‘Carter IV’ due to the litigation at the time.

The true cause of the breakdown was never revealed but Wayne and the label settled the lawsuit.

Wayne’s friend, Ricky Rozay, subliminally addressed Birdman in his song, “Idols Become Rivals,” alleging that Baby didn’t treat his artists properly. He rapped, “Catholic record labels, n**as gettin’ raped, boy! Birdman’s a priest, moans in his synagogue.”

Drake, Wayne, Turk, Juvenile, and Tyga have also parted ways from the label. If you recall, Turk filed a lawsuit against Birdman in 2015, asking for over a million in royalties. The two have sense squashed their beef, according to a 2017 interview with TMZ.
