The Chiefs of Air Staff (CAS) Air Marshal Oladayo Amao on Thursday, arrived Maiduguri, for a first-hand briefing on the NAF missing Jet.
According to the statement released on Thursday 1st April 2021, by the Director of Public Relations and Information Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, stated that Air Marshal Oladayo Amao who arrived in Maiduguri on Thursday morning.
He was briefed on the ongoing search and rescue efforts in connection with the NAF missing jet, which is said to be an Alpha Jet aircraft.
Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet in his statement, added that CAS during his visit, also urged pilots, engineers and technicians to remain undeterred and resolute in their commitment to ensuring that peace returns to the North East.
The news report on the NAF missing jet was confirmed on Thursday by Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet.
The NAF spokesperson had said that the missing aircraft which was on a routine mission in support of own troops at one of the Theatres of Operation in the Northern part of Nigeria lost radar contact.
He said efforts are currently ongoing to locate its whereabouts, and CAS has joined his men on this search and rescue effort.
