President Muhammadu Buhari has been conferred with Niger Republic’s highest honour by the country’s President, Mahamadou Issoufou.

President Mahamadou Issoufou in a series of photos shared on social media on Tuesday 16th March 2021, by Bashir Ahmad who is the Personal Assistant on New Media to President Muhammadu Buhari, decorated the Nigerian President with the Niger Republic’s highest honour at the State House Abuja.

No further statement was made as regarding the Niger Republic’s highest honour being conferred on President Buhari, from the Niger Republic President, as at the time of this report.

Niger Republic is a neighbouring country to Nigeria and aside the two countries join efforts at ending the menace of Boko Haram and other criminal elements in the North, recently, President Muhammadu Buhari signed a multi-billion-dollar rail project that will connect Nigeria from Kano to Niger Republic to boost trade between both countries.

The project, according to the Minister of Transportation and the Federal government, will cost a total of US$ 1.8billion.

The 283-kilometre rail project which will be handled by a Portuguese group, will run from the northern trading hub of Kano to the town of Maradi on the other side of the Nigeria-Niger border.

…enough to be awarding the highest honour of Niger Republic to the Nigerian President for the move…
