The latest update from the Delta State Church Collapse is that at the time of this report, authorities have confirmed that about 3 have been confirmed dead, 18 rescued alive, and more trapped in the rubble of the building collapse.
Some of those rescued alive from the Delta State Church Collapse were taken to the Asaba Specialist Hospital.
The Delta state police command Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Bright Edafe on the 12th of January, 2022 confirmed that only 3 deaths were recorded as against the 10 being reported.

According to the official police report, the Rescue Operation is over, 18 persons rescued initially, four people were discharged, 11 persons still receiving treatment, three deaths recorded which includes two female children and one woman, their names unknown for now, he added.
Delta State Church, which was a building housing Salvation Ministry, Okpanam, Oshimili North local government area of Delta state, collapsed, trapping an unspecified number of worshippers on Tuesday.
The building, which is being used for the first time, reportedly collapsed at about 5:55p.m during Tuesday’s evening service.
The Secretary to the State Government, Chief Patrick Ukah, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr Ononye Mordi, a team of Red Cross officers, and firefighters were on the ground on a rescue mission.
With rescue operations ongoing, worshippers, family members and sympathisers were seen crying.
