Nigerians are reacting to the fuel price hike by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration, as they call for a nationwide protests over the increment.
Nigerians condemned the President, saying that the move shows that the President is insensitive to the plight of Nigerians who have been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic and the increased in the prices of goods and services.
On Friday, Nigerians woke up to the news that the pump price of premium motor spirit (PMS) also known as petrol, has been increased to N212.61 per litre from N172 . A move that will further push upward the prices of goods and services and inflict more hardship on the ordinary Nigerians.
Although the news of a fuel price hike, has been denied by the Government, with an earlier post on the website of one of the agencies responsible for this (Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency, PPPRA) deleted, Nigerians have taken to social media to call for a nationwide protests, with topics such as ‘Ojota’, Buhari,’ fuel Price Hike’ Jonatha’ Japa and many more already trending on the Nigerian Twitter street.
