The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 877 new cases of the dreaded coronavirus in the country. The latest data was released on Thursday 18th February 2021, with 8 new deaths.
According to the NCDC, the 877 new cases of the coronavirus were recorded in 24 out of the 36 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). These cases show the following distribution across the 24 states:

Rivers (79),
Taraba (73),
Oyo (66),
Ogun (60),
FCT (58),
Plateau (56),
Kwara (38),
Ondo (38),
Osun (24),
Kano (22),
Nasarawa (21),
Abia (19),
Edo(19),
Akwa Ibom (19),
Cross River (10),
Delta (9),
Benue (8),
Ekiti (6),
Borno (6),
Katsina (4),
Bauchi (3),
Bayelsa (1) and
Zamfara (1)
According to the NCDC, discharges as of this date, include 275 community recoveries in Lagos State and 91 community recoveries in Kwara State managed in line with guidelines.
Also, to date, a total of 149,369 cases have been confirmed, with 125,722 cases discharged and 1,787 deaths recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
