The acting Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps,(NSCDC) Hilary Kelechi Madu fsi, has commenced his national working visit at the FCT Command on Thursday, February 11, 2021, highlighting that the Minister of Interior Ogbeni Rauf Aregbsola has implored the Corps Officers and Men to embrace professionalism in the discharge of their constitutional mandate.
Madu noted, that the Honourable Minister is solidly behind the Corps. Revealing that on the assumption of office, the Minister mandated the Corps to come up with a blueprint in two key areas comprising the Agro-Rangers and the Critical Infrastructure and National Assets to further enhance the efficiency of the Corps.
He disclosed, that the Minister assured to assist the NSCDC Corps in transforming the Agro-Rangers and also support in all ways, the adequate protection of the nation’s Critical Infrastructure and National Assets so as to curb the incessant pipelines fire explosions.
The acting CG charged all the NSCDC Officers and Men concerning the COVID-19 protocols that the Corps Personnel should be up and doing in keeping to the protocols, and also, be in the vanguard of enforcing the COVID-19 protocols in Nigeria.
He said the President of Nigeria is very particular on the enforcement of the COVID-19, as he has called on all Nigerians to maintain the highest hygiene possible.
According to Acting CG, the President has directed that all defaulters of COVID-19 should be sanctioned.
Hilary called on all Personnel to redouble their efforts in the discharge of their duties to justify the salary they earn monthly.
The FCT Commandant, Mathias Ohiemi thanked the Acting Commandant General for his visit to the Command.
He noted that this is the first time in a long time a sitting Commandant General will pay a working visit to the FCT Command.
Commandant Ohiemi, informed the Acting CG that the Divisional Officers of both kubwa and Pyakasa are always at their best in discharging their duties, to this end, the Acting CG handed over two (2) operational Nissan Pick Up Vehicles and Motorcycles to the 2 Divisions to enable them excel further in their duties.
ACG Aliyu Musa Ndanusa, Zonal Commander Zone O, in his vote of thanks, committed the Acting Commandant General into the hands of God to always guide him in his new office. He noted especially, that the working visit of the Acting Commandant General is a morale booster to the officers and men of the FCT Command to propel them to work more efficiently in the discharge of their constitutional mandate.
