The Anambra State Police Command, has once again, arrested a notorious robbery suspect who specialises in snatching Keke in the State.
The command in a statement released on Friday 12th February 2021, by it’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Haruna Mohammed said the suspect who was identified as a 24-year-old Eze Chuckwuma was arrested after a distress call was put through to one of their division in the state.
Eze Chukwuma who specialises in snatching Keke, was said to have shot the owner of the Keke he snatched at gunpoint in the head, was arrested with the said firearm and the Keke. The owner who was shot in the head is said to be alive and responding to treatment at the hospital he was rushed to after the incident.
This was the statement by the Police:
“On 12/2/2021 at about 6:am, following a distress call, police operatives attached to Oba division in Idemili South LGA of Anambra State arrested one Eze Chukwuma ‘m’ aged 24years resident at Oba but a native of Nachi Community in Udi LGA of Enugu State.
The suspect allegedly shot a Keke rider on his forehead and snatched at gunpoint a tricycle from the rider. The victim was rushed to the hospital for medical attention and is responding to treatment.
Meanwhile, the suspect has voluntarily confessed to the crime and exhibits recovered in his possession includes one locally made pistol and the snatched tricycle. An investigation is ongoing after which the suspect would be brought to justice.
