The United States Congress has formally affirmed President-elect Joe Biden’s win, after Vice President Mike Pence told his Boss, Trump, that he does not have the powers to overturn the election results.
The confirmation of Joe Biden’s win by Congress was done on Thursday 7th January 2021, as they formally tabulated each state’s Electoral College votes, with Vice President Pence announcing before a joint session of Congress, that Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris won with 306 votes over Trump’s 232.
This confirmation of Joe Biden’s win, puts to an end the claims by President Donald Trump who spent the last two months refusing to concede the election and making baseless allegations of mass voter fraud, and that he won the election.
It is clear that Trump has been rejected by dozens of courts and Republican officials, including his own Vice, Mike Pence who presided over the formal session that ended early Thursday morning.
