The Nigerian Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Abubakar has expressed shock and sadness over the death of former and the 12th Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Nsikak Eduok.
Air Marshal Abubakar in a statement released on Thursday 7th January 2021, on his official Twitter handle, said he received the news of (Air Mrshl) Nsikak Eduok (retired), with great shock and sadness.
According to the statement, the Late Air MrshlNsikak Eduok, who served Nigeria’s CAS from 1996 to 1999, was a seasoned fighter pilot and administrator.
During his tenure, late Air Mrshl Eduok instituted several laudable policies, projects and programmes that, in no small measure, contributed to elevating the Nigerian Air Force to the enviable heights it has attained today. He also continued to provide invaluable advice in retirement.
“We, as a Service, are yet to come to terms with the tragic fact that this great Nigerian & sterling Nigeria Air Force senior officer is no more. However, we take solace in the knowledge that he lived a fulfilled life of service to God, our Great Nation & Humanity, as a whole.
On behalf of all officers, airmen, airwomen & civilian staff of Nigeria Air Force, I commiserate with the Nsikak Eduok family as well as the government & people of Akwa Ibom State over this sad loss. We pray that the Almighty God comforts us all & grants his soul peaceful repose,” he added.
