PHOTO: Nigerian Army Returns IDPs Back To Their Reclaimed Communities

The Nigerian Army under Operation Last Hold has returned Internally Displaced Persons in the North East back to their communities after it was reclaimed from the Boko Haram terrorists group.
The Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Turkur Buratai who made this known a few minutes ago said the Nigerian Army is here to protect all Nigerians irrespective of their status and location while urging the IDPs to trust the Army and forces of Operation Last Hold with vital information that could aid their operations.

The COAF who was on an assessment tour of some waterways in the Lake Chad region and other trouble spots in the North East was accompanied by Commander of Operation Last Hold Major-General Abba Dikko, for a first-hand assessment tour.

In a Statment released by the Army on their social media, the message on the reclaiming of communities and the return of Internally displaced persons said:

OPERATION LAST HOLD: RETURNEES RECLAIM THEIR COMMUNITIES. Sequel to the Operationalization of Operation LAST HOLD by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai, the returnees Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) have started clearing their farms,open water ways in the Lake Chad and clear roads to their communities. This was observed as the Commander Operation LAST HOLD Maj Gen Abba Dikko, embarked on operational assessment visits to the Task Force Brigades on Operation LAST HOLD.

He appreciated the locals who turned up massively for the road clearance, water ways clearance and urged them to take initiative in reclaiming and reoccupation of their communities and farms.He urged them to continue to support the troops deployed in their various communities and also reiterated the Chief of Army Staff directive especially, in regards to respect for human rights.

He assured them the Federal and State Governments commitment towards their well being and called on them to always provide timely information to the troops.
