Lagosians have been reacting and mostly in disbelieve, to the news that Lagos State Commander of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) and Deputy Commissioner of Police, Tunji Disu has been redeployed to Abuja.
The news which came as a shock to many, have seen them taking to social media to send their best wishes to Tunji Disu, as he has been one of the finest Police officers in the state and his coordination of the RRS has been one of the best.
The news of Tunji Disu being redeployed to Force Headquarters Abuja, was shared on Thursday 10th December 2020, as he bows out in grand style.
Tunji Disu commanded the RRS which is a section of the Lagos State Police Command set up to respond speedily to emergencies within Lagos State.
Tunji Disu who is also a lover of animals, such as Dogs, was born in Lagos Island; had his post-primary education at Mayflower Junior School, Ikenne, Ogun State; attended Pobuna Secondary Grammar School, Epe; and Saint Gregory’s College, Lagos.
He obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English (Education) at the Lagos State University; post-graduate Diploma in International Relations and Strategic Studies at Lagos State University; a Certificate in Personal Protection in the United Kingdom; and has Master in Public Administrations at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba, Ondo State.
He joined the Nigerian Police in 1992 as Cadet ASP and was trained at the Nigeria Police Academy, Kaduna. He has served as DPO in various divisions and states. He was Officer-in-Charge Anti-Fraud; and also in other capacities.
As at the time of filing this report, his next role at the Force Headquarters is yet to be made public but on Wednesday, Disu had posted a message on his Facebook page which many now believe may be connected to his new posting.
He wrote: “I’m thankful for my struggle because without it I wouldn’t have stumbled across my strength. Alhamdullilah Robi Allahmin. New frontiers.”

Wowwwww!!! So soon?? The authorities should have allowed him consolidate on the great heights and achievement he has built in Lagos. I applaud him for the high level of professionalism he instilled on the men of the RRS in Lagos.
While it is sad news to see him leave, it is also a piece of good news, especially for his career as an officer.
