Sen Buruji Kashamu has died at the age of 62. His death was announced on Saturday 8th August 2020, by his friend and also a fellow Senator from the 8th National Assembly, representing Bayelsa State, Senator Ben Murray Bruce.
Sen Buruji Kashamu was said to have died from the novel coronavirus, at the First Cardiology Consultants, in Lagos.
Sen Buruji Kashamu is the latest prominent Nigerian to have died from the coronavirus pandemic.
Ben Murray-Bruce in a tweet on his official Twitter handle, announced the death of Sen Buruju Kashamu where he said:
“I have just lost my good friend of forever to #COVID19. Until his death, Sen. Buruji Kashamu and I were inseparable. He died today at First Cardiology Consultants, in Lagos. May his gentle soul rest in peace. I pray his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear this heavy loss,” he said.
Buruji was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who served as a Senator representing Ogun East in the 8th National Assembly.
