Ojodu Grammar School: Truck Kills 17 Students In Lagos

At least about 17 school children are being reported to have been killed from the Ojodu Grammar School accident on Tuesday afternoon.

According to an eyewitness report, the Ojodu Grammer school accident was said to have been as a result of a brake failure from the said Truck, which led to the truck ramming into the school children.

The children were returning from school when the incident happened.

The exact number of casualties is yet to be ascertained, as investigation and rescue efforts are still ongoing at the time of this report.

The Truck was trying to escape from VIS officials check at Ojodu and as a result, failed brake and rammed into the students at grammar school Ojodu.

Consequently, the students and hoodlums pursued the truck and caught up with it at around excellence hotel Ogba and damaged the vehicle and thereafter went on a rampage attacking any truck or trailers insight. As of the last count, over 4 trailers/trucks have been vandalized and damaged by the mob.

However, it took the swift intervention of men of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) led by its commander CSP Yinka Egbeyemi who raced to the scene and restored normalcy.

Right now, the situation is calm in the vicinity as the men of RRS are on the ground with their vehicles to prevent any reoccurrence of threat to law and order.

The accident happened along Isheri Road, just before the Ojodu Police Station.
