UCL Draws: Man City To face Juventus/Lyon If They Beat Real Madrid

The Champions League, UCL draws are out, as Manchester City will be facing either Juventus or Lyon if they beat Real Madrid in the return leg.

Pep Guardiola’s side came from a goal down to record a memorable 2-1 win at the Bernabeu back in February but the coronavirus pandemic forced the suspension of the competition and the return fixture is still to be played.
That tie is also delicately poised with Maurizio Sarri’s men needing to overturn a 1-0 first-leg deficit.

UCL draws to be played Aug. 12-16 will see the following fixtures
Real Madrid/Manchester City vs. Lyon/Juventus
RB Leipzig vs. Atletico Madrid
Napoli/Barcelona vs. Chelsea/Bayern Munich
Atalanta vs. Paris Saint-Germain

Semifinals to be played Aug. 18-19
Chelsea, meanwhile, could face one of Napoli or Barcelona but Frank Lampard’s team faces a near-impossible task to progress to the next stage after they were crushed 3-0 at Stamford Bridge by Bayern Munich three months ago.

Liverpool’s conquerors Atletico Madrid will face RB Leipzig who also vanquished Premier League opposition in the form of Spurs in the last round, while Paris Saint-Germain will meet this season’s surprise packages, Atalanta.

The remaining last 16 fixtures are due to take place on August 7 and August 8, while the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will be played as a straight knockout tournament in Lisbon.

All these ties will be single-leg fixtures. The games will be split between Benfica’s Stadium of Light which will host the final and Sporting’s Jose Alvalade stadium.
