Acting Secretary of the Federal Capital Territory, Health and Human Services Secretariat, Dr Mohammed Kawu has tested positive to COVID-19.

Speaking to Journalists at the Asokoro District Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment, the Acting Secretary, Dr. Kawu explained that his journey to the Isolation Center began 12 days ago with feverish conditions which prompted him to take the COVID-19 test which turned out to be positive.

Asokoro isolation centre is one of the seven isolation centres in the territory.

Dr Kawu who further noted that one of the challenges of front line health workers was the fear of having their family members infected, said his affected family members were also being managed within the FCT system.

The acting Secretary further enjoined Nigerians to continue to pray for the frontline health workers who are risking their lives to protect the society and stressed the need for Nigerians to take necessary preventive measures seriously to curtail the spread of the virus.
