The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), which is the national public health institute responsible for the prevention, detection and response to infectious disease outbreaks in Nigeria, has reported 779 new cases of coronavirus in the country.
This latest figure takes the total number of confirmed positive cases so far in Nigeria to 24,077.
According to the Saturday update, the 779 new cases were reported across 22 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Once again, Lagos state recorded the highest number of positive cases, out of the 779 news cases. The state on Saturday recorded 285 positive cases.

The above distribution across states, brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country, as at 27th June 2020, to 24,077. The total number of discharged patients across Nigeria and as reported by the NCDC was put at 8,625 with 558 deaths.
