United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) also known as the UN Refugee Agency, has appointed Nigerian music legend, Innocent Idibia who is better known as 2baba or 2face, as their regional Goodwill Ambassador.
UNHCR is the world’s leading organization aiding and protecting people forced to flee their homes due to violence, conflict and persecution. It also provides shelter, food, water, medical care and other life-saving assistance to refugees around the world. The agency announced the good news on Tuesday 23rd June 2020.
Also, Innocent Idibia confirming his latest international appointment, took to his social media account to share the good news with his fans. He posted a photo of himself which was a repost from the UNHCR page, with a caption that reads:
“Honoured and humbled by my appointment as a regional goodwill ambassador of UNHCR. Thanks for the recognition.
This will no doubt deepen my commitment to supporting the effort of UNHCR personnel and volunteers who are on the ground every day, working hard to provide support and hope to millions of forcefully displaced persons across the world.
Special thanks to donors and supporters of the cause. Blessings one and all,” he said.
UNHCR or the UN Refugee Agency job in Nigeria and the world over, is to save lives, protecting rights and building a better future for refugees, forcibly displaced and stateless people.
