Juventus have reached an agreement with Barcelona to sign Brazilian midfielder, Arthur for a reported fee of £72.5million. This was according to Sky Sports which broke the news a few hours ago.
Arthur who only signed a six-year contract with Barcelona in the summer of 2018 from Gremio for an initial £27 million, will be looking to continue his football in Italy next season.
The midfielder played 27 times in La Liga in his debut campaign, failing to score. This season, he’s played 19 times in the league, scoring three times.
He’s also been capped for his country on 20 occasions.
After Juve’s 2-0 victory against Bologna on Monday night, the club’s director Fabio Paratici said Arthur has to be “convinced” about joining the club after admitted talks are in progress.
“We have spoken frequently with Barcelona, but at this moment all the teams are playing important games, so we preferred to bypass this period,” Paratici told Sky Sport Italia.
“It’s not about June 30, before or after, but about finding an agreement between the various parties, and both players have to be convinced. Therefore, it’s not an issue about dates.”
