Ganduje To Increase Scholarship Allowance For Indigenous Students

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has ordered the release of 293 inmates across the Custodial Centers in the state.

The order to release the inmates, follows the directives given by the Federal Government for the decongestion of Custodial Centers nation-wide due to the global COVID-19.

The decongestion is done to prevent the spread of the Virus among the inmates and staff of the organization.

At the Custodial Centres visited, the governor urged the released inmates, to be of good behaviour in the society and to make good use of the opportunity given to them to engage in productive venture instead of crime.

Governor Ganduje gave the inmates transport fare of N5000 each for them to return to their various home and paid the compensation of nearly N12 million.

Controller of Corrections Kano, Magaji Ahmed Abdullahi applauded the preventive measures taken by the Controller General of Corrections, Jafaru Ahmed in preventing the spread of the Corona Virus across the Custodial Centers nation-wide.
