The Governor of Taraba State, Governor Darius Ishaku has denied media reports that he signed the state’s 2020 appropriation bill on a hospital bed in Abuja.

Governor Darius Ishaku in a statement released on Friday 24th January 2020 by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr Bala Dan Abu, described the alleged sponsored publication as part of the extensive plot by the publishers of the paper and their sponsors to tarnish the good intentions of Governor Darius Ishaku.

Mr Bala Dan Abu called the allegations by the newspaper as false, saying:

“Once again, the Taraba Truth and Facts Newspaper has goofed in its social media publication of today in which it claimed that Governor Darius Ishaku signed the 2020 Taraba State appropriation bill on a hospital bed in Abuja.

“The truth is that as at the time of their publication, the budget had not been signed. Even as at the time of this rejoinder, the budget had not been signed.”

“Therefore, the story of budget signing in Abuja is only a figment of the imagination of the publishers of the paper.”

Mr Bala Abu also stated categorically that Gov. Darius Ishaku is not in the hospital as contained in the publication.

“The story is, therefore, one in the chain of several stories which the paper has lined up as part of its plot to twist the truth and the facts about the Ishaku administration and bring it to ridicule,” he said.

He urged the public to disregard Taraba Truth and Facts newspaper because it is incapable of telling the truth and stating the facts on any issue dispassionately.
