President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his condolence to former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar over the death of a close aide, Alhaji Umar Pariya.

The President reacting to the sad event in a statement released on Tuesday 19th November 2019 by his Senior Speical Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, said:

“I received the news of the death of your close aide, Alhaji Pariya, with a heavy heart. It is very touching to lose such a personal aide for many years. May Allah grant you the strength to bear the irreparable loss” he said.

The President continued by saying a little prayer for the late Umar Pariya and the family he left behind, saying: ‘‘May Allah grant his family the strength to absorb the impact of this death, forgive his shortcomings and reward his good deeds in the hereafter.”

President Muhammadu Buhari’s condolence message is coming a few hours after former Vice President Atiku Abubakar himself took to his social media page to announce to the world the sad news of the death of his aide. He has posted this on his official Twitter handle confirming the death of Umar Pariay. He said:

“Umar Pariya was much more than a longstanding aide to me; he was incredibly loyal and qualified as a member of my family. He will be missed. May Allah comfort his family, forgive his sins and grant him AlJannah Firdaus. Ameen.”
