African football legend, Samuel Eto‘o Fils has paid a glowing tribute to his late friend, and Ivorian music legend, DJ Arafat who died on Monday after a ghastly motorbike accident in Abidjan, the capital city of Ivory Coast.
The former Barcelona forward and Cameroonian International, Samuel Eto‘o Fils who had a very close relationship with the originator of the Coupé-Décalé music genre, posted some photos on his Instagram page showing the two of them way back in their youthful days, as he captioned the photos with these words:
“Brother, you leave this land too soon but you will never really leave us because you are still alive in our minds. In this picture, I see ourselves as young and conquerors. The image of a winner, a champion is the one I will remember from you. Go in peace bro. ” I send my heartfelt condolences and the expression of my deepest sympathy to the family, to the entire Ivorian public and to the fans you leave around the world,” he said.
Born in Abidjan in 1986, the artist, whose real name is Ange Didier Huon, had a massive audience in French-speaking western and central African countries. He died on Monday afternoon after he was involved in a ghastly motorbike accident.
