The wife of the former Governor of Oyo State, Mrs Ajimobi and her husband Senator Ajimobi celebrate with their daughter Ajayi Ajimobi who graduated from University of Warwick with a Law Degree.

Mrs Ajimobi who was joined by other family members, shared photos of her husband and daughter together with other family members all embellished in white and black theme outfit for a lovely family photo.

Mrs Florence Ajimobi who actually shared the photos on her social media accounts, captioned the photos with these words:

Today, to the glory of God, my baby Ajayi graduated from University!

As a family, we are truly grateful to the Almighty God for his guidance and support over her life.

We indeed give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever! (1Chronicles 16:34)” she said.

Given what we have seen for the last few days where politicians such as the Vice President, former Deputy Senate President, former Speaker and other Senators and Governors, who have all taken to their social media handles to share photos celebrating their children graduating from Universities abroad, the Ajimobis just joined the trend which is probably not new. But the question is, what message are they trying to pass to other Nigerians who are not in the position of power today but are eyeing to be or the electorates who voted for them and are yet to benefit from their governance.

While we congratulate Miss Ajayi and the family for the great news, it clearly shows why the level or standard of education in Nigeria has fallen. I mean why would any Governor or President or even politicians take the issue of education in Nigeria serious or have any meaningful discussion on education when their children do not even attend these schools.

This is a trend I do not see stopping anytime soon, just as we already have in the Health sector, as public service Nigeria, is for individual and family enrichment…
