Ex-Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Tony Omenyi has been found guilty and sentenced to seven years imprisonment by Justice Dimgba of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, over his role in the Arms-gate scandal.

According to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Tony Omenyi who is a former Managing Director of Aeronautical Engineering and Technical Services Limited, a subsidiary company of NAF, was charged in 2014 for money laundering charges as he was accused of receiving the sum of N136million naira as kickbacks from SkyExperts Nigeria Limited, in 2014.

Delivering judgment on the three counts preferred against the convict, Justice Nnamdi Dimgba, sentenced Tony Omenyi to seven years imprisonment on each of the three counts but ruled that the sentences should run concurrently.
