Atletico Madrid has confirmed the signing of Spanish international, Alvaro Morata from Chelsea on loan till the end of the current season and the next season 2020.
Atletico Madrid releasing a statement a few hours ago, said:
“Atlético de Madrid has reached an agreement with Chelsea Football Club over the loan of the 26-year-old for the remainder of the season and the next one. The striker has signed his contract after having passed his medical on Sunday”.
Stating their agreement with Chelsea, the La Liga club in their statement said:
“Álvaro Morata is now an Atlético de Madrid player. The striker has already signed his contract for the remainder of the current season and the next one after our club reached an agreement with Chelsea Football Club and the player passed his medical at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra.”
The Spaniard spent four seasons at our Academy, having originally joined as an “Alevín,” and was a teammate of Koke during his first spell at our club. The two will now reunite in our first team, in which the striker will wear the number 22 shirt.
Alvaro Morata is moving back to Spain after struggling to find the net consistently for Chelsea, and the arrival of Higuain meant that his chances of making the first team will be limited, and given that manager, Sarri prefers Hazard as a striker than Giroud and Him, it was better for him to move on.
