Breaking: Military allegedly seize Power in Gabon
Military officers in Gabon has been alleged to have seized power as they have taken over Gabon national radio station and condemn President Ali Bongo’s new year’s speech in apparent coup attempt.

According to BBC the military in their radio announcement said they are restoring Democracy in Gabon through a “National Restoration Council”.

The report also said that Tanks and armed vehicles can be seen on the streets of the capital Libreville.
President Ali Bongo took over power in 2009, and was reportedly to have suffered a stroke in October and was receiving treatment in Morocco.

Mr Bongo sought to put an end to the rumour about his health with a New Year message in which he said he was feeling fine. But Soldiers said they had been disappointed by the message, calling it “a pitiful sight” and a “relentless attempt to cling onto power.”
