Nollywood actress and wife to 2Baba, Annie Idibia on Friday, claimed she does not believe in feminism and not a fan of it, as she believes men are King and women are Queens period!
Annie Idibia who said this during her time on the hot seat of 234stars, where she was asked a number of questions (17 questions), but one of the questions she was asked and gave an answer to which she is now being bashed for was that of ‘Feminism’.
The interviewer from 234stars was also the one that interviewed popular and award winning author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie on the same topic, ‘Feminism’…they always find a way, to sneak it in during their interview, and it seems Annie Idibia miss fired in her response to that question.
On the issue of Feminism she was asked what is her understanding of the word:
She said: “Rescuing yourself”
If she is a Feminist, and she answered:
“No not really…but I believe in women power….and I believe that men are still King and women are Queens,” she said.
Stating further, she said:
“I do not believe a woman is a King,” she said.
“personally (apologizing) I am not trying to offend anybody here, but I do not believe a woman is a King…I believe she is a Queen” She said.
…clearly her understanding of the word ‘Feminist’ or ‘Feminism’ is very limited, given what we know and it goes beyond being a KING or QUEEN she still does not explain anything about being a feminist or feminism…I am not bashing her though…
