I know a lot of people are shock seeing that headline, as Tekno Miles is not known to be a singer-singer of such, that will suffer a vocal box injury…lol…same thought I had when I first saw the official statement from his management.
On a more serious note though, vocal injuries are very common among musicians and most musicians who have suffered vocal injuries could be as a result of so many factors. But most singers who have suffered this are those who have relied so much on their talent (who did not study music and probably do not have a voice coach for proper management), and some bad habits engaged in by some of these singers, will eventually result in vocal injuries…trained and professional singers can also suffer vocal injuries too…I am not trying to yab anyone here…
Too much stress on the voice by over singing, singing too loudly without sufficient rest, among other things, have caused so many injuries. So, we understand the situation of Tekno Miles, which is as a result of too much stress on the voice or excessive use of vocal fry and belting.
The Tekno Miles management released a statement on the issue saying:
“These past few days have been really trying times for your favourite boy, Tekno Miles.
He had tried to downplay the severity of his ailment, hoping it will be short-lived, but after further diagnoses, doctors have advised that he takes time out to fully recover. His vocal box is temporarily damaged due to strain from overtime performance and cannot sing or perform for a while.
Please put Tekno in your prayers. Nevertheless, he also wants to reassure his fans that they have nothing to worry about because he has put in so much work so a lot of great music will be released during this period. Please send love and positive vibrations his way as this is a hard time for him. Thank You.
