Comedian, Basketmouth has joined others to celebrate the late musical genius and actor, Lanre Fasasi better known as Sound Sultan on his posthumous birthday today.
The singer died on July 11 after a battle with cancer.
Basketmouth took to his official social media handle to celebrate Sound Sultan, who would have completed 45 today, November 27th 2021. He posted a series of photos from a movie set, with a caption that says:
“Happy birthday my dear friend. Love you forever,” he said.
Farida Fasasi, wife of Sound Sultan, also took to social media to celebrate him.
In a post shared on her Instagram page this morning, Farida mentioned that she misses him and also professed her undying love for him.

Sound Sultan who sang ‘Jagbajantis’ lost his to battle with cancer of the throat.
Dr Kayode Fasasi had in a statement on behalf of the Fasasi family, made the revelation.
He said: “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our multitalented veteran singer, rapper, songwriter Olanrewaju Fasasi aka Sound Sultan.
He passed away at the age of 44 following a hard-fought battle with Angioimmunoblastic T-Cell Lymphoma.
“He is survived by his wife, three children and his siblings. We, his family, will appreciate the utmost privacy as we come to grips with this tragic loss.”
In May, Sound Sultan had reacted to news about his cancer diagnosis by saying, via Instagram, “I must not ignore the massive show of love. Thank you all.
“I will tell you my story myself it will be true then not false.”
