South East Elders have been rumoured to have rejected the candidature of former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi as the running mate to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The group which called themselves South East leaders, held a meeting to discuss the emergence of Peter Obi as the running mate to Atiku for the 2019 Presidential election, and in attendance were some Governors, and the usual suspect Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and others.
According to a report, the meeting was held in Enugu, as the group submitted that the PDP and Atiku Abubakar did not consult them before picking Peter Obi as his running mate, so, they are now asking Atiku to meet them and iron things out amicably.
My question again goes: If the small group who are calling themselves leaders of the South East do not want Peter Obi, then who is it they want, that when picked will not attract the attention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) or one that is facing corruption charges in Court.

As we await an official statement to this effect, it is very interesting that some of these politicians from the South East are truly trying to position themselves in an advantage position come 2019. If there is any truth in the news being spread that the Leaders of the alleged leaders from the South East are willing to forgo the slot of the Vice President for a possible President ticket come 2023, then the Atiku-Peter Obi ticket will not sell in that region.
There are some insinuation that they could even work to favour Buhari than Atiku, as supporting Buhari could give them the Presidential ticket than Atiku that is likely to use 8years.
..I am loving all the political permutations going on ahead of the 2019 elections….we are watching and waiting…
