PHOTO: Lagos State Government To Pay N30,000 Monthly Stipends To RSW Interns

The Lagos State Government is set to carry out its promise made to participants of the Ready Set Work job initiative. The State Government, earlier today in a series of tweets released from the official twitter handle of the All Progressive Congress, said the Governor of Lagos State, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode is set to pay the participants of Ready Set Work in all state Tertiary Institution a sum of N30,000 monthly, as interns.

The programme which was set up to give final year students of Lagos state the needed working experience, will be a six months internship with multinationals, banks and other companies. The programme has so far trained over two thousand students from the Lagos State owned tertiary institutions as well as the University of Lagos. Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has approved the payment of N30,000 as monthly stipends to (RSW) interns who have been placed in various organisations for six-month paid internships.

The Governor also approved N8million in seed funding for the top five winners of the RSW Business Pitch Competition, whose businesses will be placed in incubation, while the beneficiaries will commence their internships and incubation, respectively, on March 1st, 2018

The RSW programme, which held its pilot in 2016 with 500 final year students from three tertiary institutions in Lagos State, was scaled up in 2017 to 12,000 Students from six institutions including, LASU, LASPOTECH, AOCOED & Michael Otedola College of Primary Education.
