Gernot Rohr, has invited 23 Super Eagles players that will be doing battle in this month’s African Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against Libya.
According to the statement released by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) Gernot Rohr called up mostly first team players and the usual suspects and just one home-based player, which happens to be a goalkeeper.
While the likes of Iwobi, Ekong and Olaoluwa Aina missed the 3-0 win over Seychelles in Mahe last month due to injury, others due to reasons best known to them opted out from the game.
In the new list released last night, Gernot Rohr has reinvited those that missed the Seychelles game, and the captain of the team Mikel Obi is missing again on the new list.
According to the schedule, Nigeria will host the first leg at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Saturday, 13th October with the return leg scheduled for the 18,000–capacity Stade Taïeb Mhiri in the city of Sfax, Tunisia on Tuesday, 16th October.
