Aisha Buhari who is the first lady and wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, has paid a visit to the family house of late Nigerian Air Force squadron leader Baba Ari who died while rehearsing for the Nigeria’s 58th Independence day celebration.
The late Squadron Baba Ari was said to have been rehearsing with his other two colleagues for the celebration that took place on Monday, when the unfortunate incident happened. The Pilots after the accident, were said to have all ejected successful, but Baba Ali was not that fortunate as his helmet flew open immediately he ejected and that led to some serious head injuries that eventually led to his death.
Mrs Aisha Buhari who like her husband, and President of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, was at the family of late Baba Ari where she prayed for the family left behind, and parents. She said:
“Inna Lilahi Wa Inna Ilahi Rajiun, this evening I paid a condolence visit to the family of late squadron leader Baba Ali, who lost his life in a recent air crash. Many a time we lose our galant soldiers in the cause of duty.
The pain of their loss can never be forgotten, I pray Allah grants the family the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss”
The Chief of Air Staff while mourning the death of the late fighter pilot Air Marshal Abubakar a few days ago had this to say:
“It is with a heavy heart that I commiserate with officers, airmen and airwomen of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) over the unfortunate incident involving 2 F-7Ni aircraft earlier today. The aircraft were flown by 3 of the most skilled and experienced pilots on the aircraft-type.
They had indeed been programmed for training on a higher performance aircraft that the NAF is about to acquire. All 3 were able to eject from the aircraft before the crash. Regrettably, however, one of them later died due complications from injuries sustained from the ejection.
The officer, Squadron Leader Bello Baba-Ari, has been buried in accordance with Islamic rites. We pray the Almighty grants his soul eternal rest”
