Governor Ambode of Lagos State has indicated his interest to re-contest for the office of the Governor of Lagos State, as he picks up his interest form.
Governor Ambode made this known a few hours ago, at the National Headquarters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja on Monday, 10th September.
The Governor who was accompanied by some of his aides and party faithful is buying the APC form despite all the rumour going around about his rift with the APC National Leader, Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is also the godfather of politics in the South Western part of Nigeria.
Some alleged that Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to dump Governor Ambode for another candidate they said was fully ready to take over from Ambode, as he has been endorsed by Bola Tinubu, even when he [Ambode] seems to have done well, going by the judgment of many Lagosians. But again, with this move, Governor Ambode has once more shown that all the talk are nothing but a mere rumour, as he looks to continue his developmental projects across the State.
The Governor putting up a photo of himself at the National Headquarters of APC, captioned the photo with these words:
“I was at the National Headquarters of our party, the All Progressives Congress, to collect the Nomination Forms to re-contest for the office of Governor of Lagos State. Once again, I count on your support.”
Governor Ambode succeeded the now Minister of Power, Works, and Housing Mr. Babatunde Fashola as the Governor of Lagos State in 2015, as the quest to transform Lagos State as a mega City in Africa continues.
The Governor will be looking to win the APC Governorship primaries, and face the opposition in the forthcoming 2019 general elections as he hope to return as Governor come 2019 and continue his developmental projects in the state.
