Simon Cowell has been honoured with a star on Hollywood walk of fame for his contribution to TV and entertainment in general.
Simon Cowell who is popular for his musical shows both in the United States and the United Kingdom, received the star a few hours ago (on Thursday), in front of family, fans and a few friends who came to celebrate the history-making achievement.
The media and reality TV mogul who gave a short speech while at the unveiling thanked everybody who had in one way or the other made it possible for him to be honoured, especially his late parents, girlfriend Lauren Silverman, and sons Adam (Lauren’s son) and four-year-old son Eric. He said:
“It’s been a blast in the last 18-years, and like I said, if anyone says fame is a bad thing, I don’t know what you are talking about, it’s the best thing in the world.
“Thank you all of you for turning up and making this happen. It means an awful lot to me, thank you.”
Simon Cowell after his star was unveiled said:
“I suppose the one thing I was also thinking about today was who would have got the biggest kick out of this and it was my mum and dad. And they are not here, but I have a feeling they are looking down, and now I can look over to my son Eric and say maybe one day you will get one of these as well” He said.
Simon Cowell the brain behind popular reality TV shows such as “The X Factor” “Britain’s Got Talent” ” America’s Got Talent” “So You Think You Can Dance” ” American Idols” and many more was honoured for his services to TV.
The likes of Leona Lewis, One Direction star Louis Tomlinson, Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel were all present to show support to Simon Cowell.
