Atletico Madrid players of French origin of Antoine Griezmann, Lucas Hernandez, and Thomas Lemar are to parade the FIFA world cup they won in Russia before their fans on Saturday.
Officials of Atletico Madrid made the announcement a few hours ago, saying that the French players to honour the fans for their support would want to share with them their World Cup success before their game on Saturday.
The three Atletico Madrid players were part of the French squad that won the world cup in Russia, after beating Croatia 4-2 in a final that had all the record-breaking statistics. The French team triumph over their Croatia opponent, through goals from Antoine Griezmann, Paris Saint Germain winger, Kylian Mbappe, and Manchester United midfielder Pual Pogba.
Antoine Griezmann and Lucas Hernandez have been with Atletico Madrid for some seasons now, with Thomas Lemar joining in only a few weeks ago from Monaco, and will be hoping to win the affection of the Atletico Madrid fans and players who are known across Europe for their strong and warrior-like characters on the pitch.
Atletico Madrid beat three-time UEFA Champions League defending Champions Real Madrid 2-4 to win the 2018 Super Cup and will be looking to advance further by winning the La Liga title and possibly the Champions League in the current season.
France won their second world cup in 20-years after they last hosted and won it in 1998, and some of the outstanding players during the just concluded Russia 2018 FIFA world cup were Kylian Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann, Paul Pogba, N’golo Kante, Matuidi, Olivier Giroud, Benjamin Pavard, Samuel Umtiti and others.
Atletico Marid are 8th on the La Liga table after their opening game and will be looking to get their first win of the season when they take on Rayo Vallecano by 7:15 pm on Saturday evening at home.
