The  former Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice of Rivers State, Emmanuel Chinwenwo Aguma (SAN) will be buried by September 2018, as the State government is to set up a committee on Friday for the burial rites arrangement.

The Governor of the State, Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike who made this known a few hours ago while receiving the President of the Nigeria Bar Association Abubakar Mahmoud and his delegation in Port Harcourt, said the burial of the late Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice will be held on September 14 and 15, 2018.

While thanking the NBA President for their visit at the Rivers State Government House in Port Harcourt, Governor Wike said that the burial committee will be set up on Friday 17th August 2018, to kick-start preparations in earnest.

The statement which was released by the Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor, Electronic Media Mr Simeon Nwakaudu, the governor said that the passage of Hon Emmanuel Aguma was unfortunate.

He noted that Aguma was a loyal public officer who invested his mental resources and time to develop the state.
He noted that his death is a personal loss, in view of his loyalty
and passion for work.

A minute silence was observed for the repose of the soul of the late Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice while the NBA President who had earlier described the late Aguma as an accomplished lawyer, and one of the very senior lawyers that we are proud of, not only in Rivers State but across the country, left and indelible marks in the law profession in Nigeria.

The NBA President later signed the condolence register placed at the Government House, and will be looking to be present at the burial rites of one of their late colleague in the law profession.

The late Commissioner of Justice died last week on the 9th of August 2018 in London.
