NCDC Reports 1400 New Cases Of Coronavirus In Nigeria

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 1400 new cases of the dreaded coronavirus in Nigeria. The centre also reported 3 new deaths on Thursday.

The NCDC, in its daily updates on Thursday 28th January 2021, reported on its official social media handle that a total of 1400 new cases of the virus were recorded across the country.

This latest report is an update to an earlier publication by the centre on Thursday. The centre had initially reported 864 new cases, without the data from Lagos State. And after adding that of Lagos state, which was put at 536 new cases, the total confirmed cases as at Thursday 28th January 2021, was now put at 1400.

NCDC released this short statement to say:

“Supplementary update for 28th January 2021 1,400 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria were reported. Includes ‘536’ new confirmed cases reported in Lagos state, not included in yesterday’s report,” the statement said.

Lagos state, once again, recorded the highest number of new cases, followed by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

According to the update, the 1400 new cases of the COVID-19, were recorded in 25 states of the federation, including the FCT. The distribution of the 1400 new cases as reported from each state, shows the following:

Till date, 127,024 cases have been confirmed, 100,853 cases have been discharged and 1,547 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
