The Chief Of Staff to Governor Rauf Aragbeshola Mr. Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola has been announced as the winner of the All Progressive Congress Governorship Primaries ahead of the September Governorship election in Osun State.
The Primaries which was chaired by the Zamfara State Governor, Mr. Yari announced Mr. Oyetola who is a cousin to the National leader of APC, Senator Bola Ahmed TInube as the winner and candidate that will be flying the flag of the APC in the September 22nd Gubernatorial election in Osun state.
The governor of Zamfara state Yari who was earlier rumoured to have been sacked as the committee that organized the election chaired the first-ever APC direct primary election by polling, and at end of it all, Mr. Oyetola emerged the winner with a total of
127, 017 votes.
The Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives Mr. Lasun Yusuff who was the closest to Oyetola pulled a total vote of 21, 975 to be placed second, while another Assembly member, but this time from the State, and Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly Mr. Najem Salaam scored 17, 958 votes, coming third.
Again, there were criticisms on the conduct and emergence of Oyetola, but the primary elections were adjudged free and fair by the organizing committee and the eventual winner, as APC awaits their opponents in the forthcoming Osun State Gubernatorial election.
