Sir, your name will be written in the sands of time as one of the few leaders who have contributed immensely to the growth and development of our dear country.

Your great achievements as Military Governor of the old western state and Oyo state will not be forgotten.

You introduced a five year recovery plan for the Nigerian Police, and proposed the injection of additional 33,000 police officers into the Nation’s security force to cope with internal security.

We cherish your worldview on democracy as a system of government established for the attainment of sustainable development for the people.

Sir, as you attain a major milestone today, on behalf of my dear wife Ibijoke, and the people of Lagos state, I celebrate you and pray that God will grant you good health to enable you render more service to humanity. Amen.

Happy 80th Birthday to you sir and God bless,” he said.

David Medayese Jemibewon was born on this day, July 20, 1940 and he is a retired Nigerian Army major general who served as military governor of the now-defunct Western State.
